PathBoard Launches New Site for Pathology and Laboratory Professionals
PathBoard launches new site designed to help medical diagnostic laboratories find qualified pathologist and laboratory professionals.

PathBoard's founders started the site as an alternative to the static job boards and large all-encompassing career sites that previously dominated the niche. Their stated goal is to provide a community environment in which laboratories looking to add pathologists and lab personnel can connect with qualified candidates efficiently and effectively.

In an attempt to create and foster this community, PathBoard seeks to provide a job listing service that will integrate online advertising with social media. PathBoard utilizes Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to engage candidates directly and offers a customizable Newsletter for its Facebook followers. They also offer traditional career board features, including a jobs database.

According to their mission statement, PathBoard seeks to combine the cost effectiveness of online advertising with the efficiency of traditional third-party recruiting services. The founding members of PathBoard spent many years recruiting in the fields of pathology and laboratory diagnostics and noticed a major gap in the hiring process. Companies were left to choose between static job boards that do not engage candidates directly or expensive recruiting fees.

While job boards are an effective way to produce applicants, according to CEO Jim MacBride, companies are often left with the time consuming task of reviewing dozens of CV's even before starting the lengthy interview process. For this reason, they created PathBoard's Candidate Evaluation Services.
