JK Harris Turns Tax Representation Industry On Its Ear
JK Harris announces major changes to its operations to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

GOOSE CREEK, SC, January 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- JK Harris and Company, the nation's largest tax representation firm, announced groundbreaking changes in the way it is providing tax resolution services.

The company's new sales model delivers services to clients in phases, starting with basic tax services, prior to making specific recommendations for resolving matters with the IRS. For a modest fee, delinquent tax returns and other simple pending issues will be addressed first, and a plan created for further resolution. Then, the client could opt to take that plan and implement it without JK Harris' assistance, or opt to contract further with the tax representation company.

"We are confident enough in our own recommendations and skills that we're willing to practically give away a resolution plan, understanding our clients may not use us to implement it," Harris said.

The client is brought into full compliance with the IRS before JK Harris makes any recommendations for resolving the tax debt.

"For us to make an accurate assessment of the situation and suggest a plan of action, we need to know exactly what we are dealing with," said Harris. "Many of our clients come to us having not filed tax returns for several years. We need to get those returns filed so we can determine exactly what we're dealing with and get down to resolving their larger tax issues, such as working toward getting the client an accepted Offer in Compromise or another option."

The initial cost covers any necessary tax return preparation, the gathering of IRS income transcripts (which show the taxpayer's previous income and tax payment history), and a Professional Recommendation report prepared by a licensed professional (CPA, Attorney, or Enrolled Agent), which details the tax issues the client faces and the tax resolution options available.

At this point, the client determines whether or not to move to the next phase and retain JK Harris and Company to implement the recommended resolution plan. Clients are free to take the plan and work directly with the IRS on their own, or take the plan to another professional service provider for assistance.

The new service model also includes an Appellate phase where clients can ask JK Harris to make an appeal on their behalf if they are not satisfied with the IRS' final settlement decision.
